Ex-Factor Project: Step 2 – Contacts

To review what the Ex-Factor Project is about, you can read the introduction here.

So, now that I identified the ten ex-boyfriends who should potentially be a part of this experiment, I now needed to contact them (or decide not to contact them). I took a good look at the list and decided that one of the two guys that I broke-up with (JealousFellow) and one other (MissingPerson) were two that I would not try to contact.

JealousFellow: He slowly and slyly moved into my house without me even asking or us even talking about it. I would be at work, and come home, and – there he was. One night, I asked if he was going home – he just looked at me, not understanding. Then, at work one morning, my friend asked me, “If you went home tonight, and you found that he wasn’t there, how would you feel?” The fact that my answer was “Relieved” told me volumes. That night, when I did get home – he was there. We started to hang out after dinner. I turned to him and simply and calmly, “Are you happy?” He quickly turned on me and angrily snapped “Well obviously you aren’t if you are asking that question!!” So, in my head I thought – great – we are going to have to do this now! Needless to say, and I can in another post if you care, he left that night and that was really it.

MissingPerson: For him, there was never a break-up per se. We had a lot of fun in our relationship and one March day, he found out that his grandfather that he was very close to, but lived in NYC, had passed away. He called me extremely upset and asking if I would be able to take any time off of work to go up there with him. I told him I wasn’t sure, but I would try. He specifically said to me, “I really need you there if you can. I love you so much, and I don’t know what I would do without you.” I assured him that I would talk to my boss in the AM and make sure that my schedule was open to support him. I called him the next day to tell him everything was in order. He didn’t answer, so I left a message. From there, to make a long story short, I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. No call, email, message – NOTHING! So, he is either in jail, dead, or that was his twisted way of saying goodbye.

That left the eight. Unfortunately, one of those eight I still have no information about. So, I called the three that I had still had phone numbers for and left a message. For all of the seven that I could find (including the three I called), I sent a Facebook message to. Now – the waiting game begins… 🙂
